Two new water taxis (small passenger-only ferries) are being put into service and are as yet nameless. The county is considering possible names, and one vessel could be named the Betty MacDonald. Or they could be named for local politicians or the state bird, or...? The choice could, at least in part, be yours. Follow the link for more information

Thank you for posting this, Frank. I voted. If I could, I'd dig up (pun intended) the old Tammany Hall tradition of having dead people vote. Let's get a ferry named for Betty!

Thank you, Pat, for providing the link. I'm happy Betty got nearly thirty percent of the vote for the Vashon ferry.

It's great that Betty did well in the voting. The lady after whom the ferry is to be named sounds like she is a deserving winner. I'm sure her family will feel very proud.
